Starts today! Vote in the Lightning Round and make one classroom’s dreams come true

9/26/2014

Teachers have a lot of great ideas! But too often, they have to dig into their own pockets to fund innovative classroom projects - or they just don't happen at all.

This fall, you have the power to change that with just one click.

Our new PowerUP Jax Lightning Round starts today at 9 a.m. and runs through October 10. It's a contest among four innovative PowerUP Jax projects, all chosen for their innovative teaching practices and impact on student engagement.

Vote for your favorite, and on October 10, the project with the greatest number of votes will win! Vote here. To vote, you must have an email address and be at least 13 years old. You can vote once per day for a PowerUP Jax project.

Why should you vote for your favorite PowerUP Jax project?

  • You'll help students in Duval County participate in a classroom project!

  • It's an easy way to show your support for teachers, public education and innovative teaching practices.

  • In addition to supporting a teacher with your vote, you'll also be entered into a drawing for a PowerUP Jax gift card to spend on any teacher you choose!

What are the benefits for the spotlighted teachers?

  • All four teachers entered into the Lightning Round contest will get the chance to spotlight their ideas at the TEACH Conference on Saturday, October 4.

  • All four teachers will be entered into the running for the annual Innovation in Education Award, given out at the EDDY Awards in March 2015.

  • The winner of the Lightning Round will get a $250 gift card to fulfill their current project or put toward a new project!
