Next slate of boundary changes adopted at Tuesday school board meeting

At its meeting tonight, the Duval County School Board approved the next set of program and boundary changes. They centered on three main proposals:

Convert R.L. Brown to a dedicated magnet for gifted and talented students, albeit with a few changes from the original proposal.

Convert John Love Elementary to a PK-2 center and Long Branch to a 3-5 center

Convert Andrew Jackson High School to a dedicated magnet for video game design, cybersecurity, information technology and sports medicine, marketing and broadcasting, with all programs connected to Dual Enrollment courses.

undefinedWe are honored to have County Court Judge Lester B. Bass share highlights from his experience with the Jean Ribault High School Mentoring Program. We’ve covered this partnership since August 2015 when the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section and the D.W. Perkins Bar Association partnered with the Jacksonville Public Education Fund and Duval County Public Schools to create a mentoring program that connects students from Jean Ribault High School to young lawyers.
