Open Enrollment: What the research says and what you can do

Superintendent Nikolai Vitti's proposed Open Enrollment policy would allow all students in the district to sign up to attend any school with available space in the district, regardless of their zoned "home" school.
This issue has generated a lot of conversation in the community. Our research team set out to learn all they could about similar Open Enrollment policies throughout the state of Florida and across the country.

As advocates for transparency and citizen involvement we urge you to take advantage of these forums to learn about funding priorities directly from Dr. Vitti and School Board members and to weigh in on what is most important to you.

On March 8, I had the pleasure of bringing my 8 year old daughter to the Family Expo at the Jacksonville Fairgounds hosted by Jax4Kids.com and Duval County Public Schools. Booths were set up indoors by various local vendors/organizations like Rebounderz, i9 Sports, YMCA, DCPS Parent Academy, and our very own Jacksonville Public Education Fund, to name a few.
