ONE by ONE moves to the Beaches in March

ONE by ONE is continuing to travel throughout Jacksonville! After a very successful February on the Northside, the campaign will kick off in the Beaches area with a reception at the Beaches Museum & History Park this Friday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, the State Board of Education voted on important changes to the way School Grades are calculated. Advocacy in Jacksonville and around the state, the modifications they approved looked much different than the original proposal, which would have graded schools that serve students with severe disabilities and given an automatic 'F' grade to any school where fewer than 25 percent of students were not reading at a proficient level.

On Friday, the Duval County School Board and Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals announced that the superintendent's contract would be allowed to expire in December and that the Superintendent would retire at that time. The Jacksonville Public Education Fund thanks Ed Pratt-Dannals for his 36 years of service to Duval County Public Schools. Keep reading for the statement that we released earlier today.
